THE ORCHESTRA

Seven musicians, a singer, madly in love with the music played by these men and women at the Cotton Club in New York, but not only that... Elegance and madness, gentleness and combat reigned in Harlem from the 1920s to the 1940s. And a director to tame the orchestra on stage.

Fabien MILLE

Piano, Arrangements,

& Orchestra Direction

A "Swiss army knife" musician, Fabien began learning classical piano at the age of five, then the saxophone, with which he created his first group at the age of 14: "Les Jazz Sons Five".

At the age of 15, he joined the Lyon Conservatory, then Lille, where he obtained a vermilion medal. Back in Lyon, he deepened his knowledge of jazz with Mario Sanchez, Jérôme Regard, Jacques Helmus... and obtained the DEM in piano-jazz, which includes the history of jazz, jazz harmony, arrangement and instrumental work.

At the age of 20, he abandoned the saxophone to teach himself the heavy brass instrument and now plays the helicon in several groups.

For 3 years, he was the titular pianist of a large jazz club in China and led numerous masterclasses and workshops. He then made a stopover in Marseille where he continued to play in jazz clubs and also touched on pop rock music with LolaM' and did an African music tour.

In 2016, he returned to settle in Grenoble and new encounters will lead him to work with many musicians, including Ivan Baldet, and “Dédé” Wentzo. He creates the "Mille Jazz Trio" around the repertoires of Duke Ellington among others, plays in several jazz groups, and even a show for children! He participates in an improvisation theater company, teaches contemporary music and jazz, in short, Fabien never has time to be bored!

Amélie ETEVENON

Staging,

Photography & video editing

Passionate about theatre since childhood, Amélie began her first productions at the age of ten, but it was with Michel Bijon of the Théâtre de l'Arcane in Marseille that she really learned how to direct actors. After training as an actress with the Compagnie l'Oeil du Silence, Amélie turned to atypical forms of theatre and discovered the work of Jerzy Grotowsky, and tried her hand at Butoh.

It was while performing at the CRC Satie in Saint-Martin-d'Hères that Amélie first crossed paths with musicians, and this encounter gave rise to a great passion for mixed creations, where music, theatre and dance, sometimes circus, move forward hand in hand in the service of the same story.

What interests him is this fusion point where music carries the emotion of a character, where gesture becomes dance and speech becomes song, and where finally performance leaves room for the movement of a story in which everyone is an actor.
